RHINOPLASTY: NOSE JOB SURGERY
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes the nose to improve its appearance or function. It can alter the size, shape, and angle of the nose and fix structural defects. The surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia and typically takes 1-2 hours. Recovery time varies but can take up to a few weeks. Rhinoplasty results are usually permanent but can be affected by aging and injury.
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER A NOSE SURGERY?
- People with structural defects in the nose such as a deviated septum.
- Individuals unhappy with the shape, size, or angle of their nose.
- Those experiencing difficulty breathing due to nasal obstruction.
- Those who have suffered injury to the nose.
- People looking to improve their overall facial balance and symmetry.
- Individuals over the age of 16-18, when the nose has completed its growth.

Closing incisions: The incisions are closed and a splint may be applied to help maintain the new shape.
Recovery: Swelling and bruising are common and typically resolve within 1-2 weeks. Stitches are removed within 7-10 days.
Follow-up: The surgeon will monitor the healing process and make any necessary adjustments.
RHINOPLASTY RECOVERY AND CARE
Rhinoplasty recovery and care is an important aspect of the surgery. Expect some mild to moderate pain, which can be managed with pain medication. Swelling and bruising around the eyes and nose are common and will gradually subside over the following weeks. Stitches are usually removed within 7-10 days after the surgery. A nasal splint may be applied to the nose to help maintain the new shape during healing. Avoid blowing your nose for several days after the surgery and avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for several weeks to allow proper healing.
Attend all follow-up appointments with your surgeon to monitor the healing process and ensure proper recovery. During the recovery period, protect your skin and face from sun exposure and follow your surgeon’s post-operative instructions carefully to ensure the best possible outcome. Final results may take several months to a year to fully reveal themselves.
